How do I know
when my feed was made?

To ensure freshness and optimal nutrition, always check the lot number to confirm the date of manufacture, and make sure to store feed in a cool, dry place. Following expiration guidance helps protect your animals’ health and feed performance.

Julian Day calendar numbers each day of the year sequentially from 001 to 365 (or 366 in a leap year), rather than labeling them by month and date. On our feed packaging, the last three digits of the lot number represent the Julian Day — indicating the exact day of the year the feed was produced. For example, a lot number ending in 245 means the feed was made on the 245th day of the year, or September 1st.
