Maintenance Technician Wanted

Job Title: Maintenance Technicians – Weekend Night Shifts
Department: Maintenance
Reports To: Maintenance Manager
FLSA Status: Non-Exempt

 

Summary: Responsible for maintaining equipment for both mills, office, and
company grounds by performing the following duties

Duties and Responsibilities include the following.  Other duties may be assigned.

 

  1. Accomplishes preventative, corrective and emergency maintenance on plant equipment to minimize facility down time.
  2. Provides knowledge and support to maintenance co-workers.*
  3. Completes preventative maintenance.*
  4. Adheres to all safety policies and regulations in accordance with approved safety rules including conducting safety inspections and providing training as needed.*
  5. Ensures a clean and safe work environment at all times including shop, boiler room, fuel storage area, and restroom.*
  6. Applies knowledge of all company policies and procedures paying special attention to health and/or safety procedures, ensures adherence, and reviews policies as needed.*
  7. Ensures upkeep on structures.
  8. Removes snow from company grounds.
  9. Participates in capital project planning and completion of projects.
  10. Performs other related duties as assigned.

Language Ability:

Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals. Ability to write routine reports and correspondence. Ability to speak effectively before groups of customers or employees of organization.

Ability to calculate figures and amounts such as discounts, interest, commissions, proportions, percentages, area, circumference, and volume. Ability to apply concepts of basic algebra and geometry.

 

Reasoning Ability:

Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists. Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form.

 

Computer Skills:

To perform this job successfully, an individual should have knowledge of word processing software, spreadsheet software, internet software, and manufacturing software.

 

Education/Experience:

High school diploma or general education degree (GED); or two to four years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
